This weekend we cracked out a lot of work on the sealant painting in the basement bathroom, second coat to be done this week, then we can start studding the walls! It will eventually be a full bath and laundry room, complete with a glass block shower. We discovered that waterproofing basement sealant is the consistency of pudding and smells like cat urine, or if your a woman like hair dye and perm. Scott came over to help before basketball and we really appreciated his help, chores go much faster when you have friends there. We are still undecided about the color scheme of the finished bathroom, it will either be a sandy taupe or a seaside blue, I think the decider will be the tile choices.
We are all looking forward to ice fishing next month, and we are all praying that there will be ice to fish off!

P.F. Changs
I love taking mom & dad to new places for dinner, and last night I took them to P.F. Changs! I really really wanted to go and greg is on second shift so I kidnapped them, a Bartz family tradition. We were lucky to get in before the rush ,and when dad ordered a bowl of soup we found out it was a huge bowl for the whole table, still chuckling about that one to myself ^^. We had some trouble keeping track of our napkins in the dim light, but we managed to have a great meal amongst the "youngins" that frequent the place. When we left, way later than we expected, there was a huge line, so if you go, go early, and dont eat the little red peppers that come on your plate!
Just a late edit to say that the next day after eating here Dad had a horrible allergic reaction, just awfull. :(

gamers new year
For new years we did indeed have a game blow out. We ate a turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy and then split into two main groups for games. Johanna greg and I played India Rails, and Cliff, Sol,Adam, Scott and James played Twighlight Imperium. While we waited for others to arrive we played Seafarers, and greg was online trying to kill Shikigami or whatever drops the Yin-Yang robe. I won India Rails, by a good margin ^^, but greg was right on my butt, and even Johanna was close, it was a very even game. Twighlight Imperium had only made it through like 2 or 3 turns when Sol and Adam had to go around midnight. After that we played Vegas Showdown, which I believe James won, and then some Euchre hands. Greg and I partnered against Scott and James, we lost every time, but had lots of fun. Scott reportedly drank all of greg's wine (even though i saw a glass in gregs hand too 0.0) and we ate tons of snacks. The cats made an appearance throughout the night to steal seats when people got up to get a drink, and of course acted very surprised when they came back and wanted their chairs back.
Mom & Dad Bartz stayed home and enjoys peaceful solitude for new years. Mom made some homemade salsa that I hear was amazing (when you see her next ask for a sample!).
